I AM NOT PC!!!!

It is Earth day. In honor of this I will:
Turn on all the lights in the house!
Burn a tank of gasoline!
Flush twice after each visit to the bathroom!
Burn the paper!
Start a bonfire!
Pour used motor oil on the ground!
Cut down a tree!
Buy a new gas guzzling 4 wheel drive SUV!!! and Pickup truck!!!!!!!!!!!

Earth Day is a farce. People think we can change things. We can't! Global Warming is not provable! It is a theory, not provable. I am sick and tired of being GREEN! It is stupid. Do you know that if we used only recycled paper, we would be out of paper as a nation in 30 days. That comes from the Sustainaility Conference at Walmart! It is a joke...I am sick of tree huggers.

Okay enough of this...I do feel better.

Go buy and READ Mark Levin's book. "Liberty and Tyranny"

Time to go burn some gasoline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Happy Day!

What a great day this is! My son in law starts a new job Wednesday after 5 months of being unemployed without being able to get unemployment compensation. Awesome! Rose and I are so excited that he will be getting a paycheck soon! Things that we just take for granted most of the time. It has been a time of growth in their lives and a growth in their faith that God can take care of us and he does look after us in the time of need. Friends that have given them gift cards, diapers for Jack and food for the table. Saturday friends of their put up a new Storage Barn in the back yard. I know it was hard to accept this gift of love from friends at Cedarcreek, but it did happen and God was given the glory for it. What an awesome God we serve. People that give of themselves for those that are in need. Their old shed blew apart in a huge storm late last fall and the downer they felt as they did not know what would happen next. But God does answer prayer, maybe in His timeframe, but he does answer prayer!

The Tigers are on the West Coast tonight playing the Angels and they Tigers are playing well. They took 2 of 3 from a hot Mariners team and now go after the Angels. Pitching has been very good and getting better. Starters, bullpen, and hitters seem to all be on the same page and playing together. It appears that the pickup of Josh Anderson could be a great pickup by the Tigers. Time will tell how long Ramon Santiago stays hot and stays in the lineup at SS.

Go Tigers

Tigers, What else! 2

Well, the Tigers are on a roll and I am thinking '09 will be fine in Detroit. I have the bandwagon warmed up and getting ready to roll! Big comeback yesterday after being down 4-0 in the 8th inning and guess what the Tigers score 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th and Rodney comes in to slam the door! The Tigers are getting good pitching and timely hitting and have won 3 in a row and dare I say it, are in 1st place in the AL Central all alone at 4-3! How sweet it is! How about Brandon Inge. 3 more rbi's and another HR! 4 already! Cabrera? Is there a better hitter in the AL right now!

Worked all weekend out in the barn and doing some woodworking because it was just too stinkin cold to ride the Goldwing! When will the cold end? they are saying we will be in the 60's this weekend! IF so we are out of here.

Continue to pray for those out of work in this economy. God is good all the time, All the Time God is good!

Tigers, What else!

Well, one day into the season and it looked like '08 never ended. Same Tigers, same Verlander. Verlander overthrew, tried too hard, no time between pitches. He needs alittle Mark the Bird in him. Talk to the ball, deep breath, take a little time, walk around the mound. We will see how this turns out, only 1 game and 161 to go. But this could get ugly if last night was any sign of the future.

Just bad play was the rule for the night. Roy Halladay is the real deal and I wish he was the Tiger #1 starter. Lets see how Edwin Jackson does tonight. Everyone was hassling me this morning about how rotten the Tigers are. Hey, all they have to do is win 90 out of the next 161 and I will be happy..

Check back in a few weeks! Then we will see which Tiger team this is. Sparky always said you will know pretty well what you have after 40 games. I will take the 1984 start of 35-5....yeah right, I just don't want 0-7 again!

Go Tigers!

We're Back

Well, we are home. Not happy about it, but we are home. We are getting so used to being in Lakeland that we know how to get around. The Tigers I think will be okay this year. They should not finish last, but who knows. The #5 spot in the rotation is up for grabs. Porcello looks like he is in the lead for that position at this point. Too many guys are gone for the WBC. I am thinking Jim Leyland is not real happy watching Armando go about 65 pitches last night. I just hope no Tigers get hurt.

The crowds were much smaller and the hotels cheaper in Lakeland this year. Between the economy and how bad the Tigers were last year, I understand. We had fun meeting people and talking to many around the field and out shagging balls. We also learned of a few places to try as far as eating. If you like seafood here are 2 places. Harry's downtown Lakeland was great! And also the Country Catfish. The grilled grouper and clam strips are awesome! If you like strawberry sundaes and shortcake you need to take the short trip to Plant City to Parksdale Farms! WOW~ gained 5 pounds just looking at it.

More later, back to work

1 Week Away!

Guess what? One week from today at this very moment Rose and I will be speeding southbound on I-75 headed for a week of Spring Training in Lakeland! Can't wait to hear the bat hit the ball and smell the leather of the gloves! Man oh man. Baseball at last. Warm weather at last.

So far this spring word out of Lakeland is positive. Players seem to be healthy and as usual everything is right with the world in Feb/March. We will see when April hits! Starting pitching will be the whole deal. If they pitch, the Tigers should compete. IF they don't it will be another long summer. Can't wait to be sitting in the stands behind home plate. Hereing the chatter, eating a hot dog and having some peanuts!

Whistlestop for breakfast and Sonny's Real Pit BBQ for dinner! And Baseball in between. This year will be a 30 year celebration of sorts. Feb 17th marked Rose and I 's 30th anniversary....seems like only yesterday!

I will try and post from Lakeland, but then again who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vacation is coming!

Well spring has given us a little glimpse the last couple of days. about 60 degrees yesterday and I got the Goldwing out for a little spin. It was good to get her out on the road for a few miles. We are in for cold weather again later in the week, but at least the snow is gone! Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pitchers and Catchers report to Lakeland on Friday and Rose and I are not far behind! We will be leaving on the 27th of February for a week of baseball and the beach....Rose says too much baseball and not enough beach! Imagine that. Heck only 5 games! that is not much?? Morning till night, non-stop baseball, what more can she ask.

Next Tuesday is our 30th wedding anniversay. That does not seem possible. But Mandy is 28 and Aaron 27 with kids of their own. But it is nice vacationing just Rose and I. It is so good to just get to spend time with her and get to experience the excitement of Spring Training in Lakeland....I am sure that is what Rose would say. Really it is just getting away from the day to day rat race that is life. Spending time not listening for the phone or anything else for that matter. Just her and I having some down time.
